All About Me
Throughout the duration of the 2020-2021 school year I student taught at a local elementary school, spending 8 weeks in a kindergarten classroom and 6 weeks in a mixed-grades, autism support classroom. Through this experience I improved my time and classroom management skills and grew in my abilities as an effective teacher. I also had the opportunity to conduct a self-study in which I explored discussing diversity topics in the classroom and the affect on my teaching practices.
As a student at Susquehanna University I was heavily involved in Greek life on campus. I am a sister of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity, and held several undergraduate positions within our campus chapter, including Director of Academic Achievement, Panhellenic Delegate, and Bylaws Committee Member. As a sister of this organization I have grown as a leader and have honed my skills in the areas of communication and problem solving. Additionally, I am a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, a first-year student honors society, and Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in education.
At present, I am a 6th- and 7th-grade learning support teacher. I co-teach a variety of subjects across both grade levels, and teach math to students in need of explicit math instruction. In addition to teaching, I am also a co-director of our middle school drama club, and am part of our positive behavior intervention team.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my fiancé and our pets, reading, photography, and making music.
